Awakening Inglewood LLC ("Awakening", "we", "us", "our") operates www.awakening.bar and our café and bar locations. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to our customers, our website visitors, and our employees.

2. Information we collect
From customers. Your name, mobile phone number, and email address when you place an order, join a waitlist, sign up for updates, or contact us. Order details and purchase history. Payment is handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
From website visitors. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
From employees and job applicants. Contact details, mobile phone number, scheduling and timekeeping records, and information you provide in connection with your employment. Where you choose to provide documentation supporting an absence, that may include health-related information. We treat such information as confidential, store it separately from general personnel records, and limit access to those who need it for scheduling and payroll administration.
3. How we use information
- To take, prepare, and fulfil your order, and to tell you when it is ready
- To respond to your questions and provide customer service
- To send you updates about Awakening, where you have asked to receive them
- To operate and improve our website and our business
- To schedule staff, administer timekeeping and payroll, and communicate with employees about their own shifts
- To meet our legal, tax, and employment obligations
4. Mobile information and text messaging
We operate text messaging programs for customers and, separately, for our employees. You are only messaged if you have opted in.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as our messaging platform provider, is permitted solely so that we can deliver the messages you asked for. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Customer messaging. If you provide your mobile number when ordering or signing up, we may text you about your order status or, where you have separately agreed, about news and offers.
Employee messaging. If you are an Awakening employee and have given written consent, we may text you about your own scheduled shifts — for example, if you have not clocked in for a shift, or to ask you to record the reason for a missed or late shift. Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of employment. You may withdraw it at any time by replying STOP or by telling your manager.

5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who operate systems on our behalf — payment processing, point of sale, scheduling and timekeeping, messaging delivery, and website hosting — and only as needed to provide those services
- Professional advisers such as our accountants and lawyers, where required
- Authorities, where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of any person
If our business is sold or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and then for any period required by law. Employment records, including timekeeping records, are retained for the periods required under California law. Documentation supporting an absence is retained only as long as needed to administer the absence and to meet our record-keeping obligations, and is then deleted.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including restricting access to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
- Text messages — reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them
- Email — use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email
- Cookies — most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; parts of the site may not work as well if you do
9. California residents
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, to request correction of inaccurate information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Where applicable law gives you the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, you may exercise it by contacting us.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

10. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.
